Spring has sprung, which means the warmer temperatures (and harsher UV rays) of summer are just around the corner. And with recent colder temperatures, your skin can still be dealing with the aftermath of the dry winter air.

Spring is the ideal time for a much-needed skin refresh!

Keep reading to learn what treatments you should focus on this season.

Treatment #1: Hydrafacial

The first perfect springtime treatment is the HydraFacial.

Winter may have left your skin dehydrated, which can cause excess oil production. The HydraFacial begins with cleansing and gently exfoliating your skin, leaving it feeling clean and refreshed! The treatment process also involves a skin brightening complex to minimize the appearance of blemishes and clear up uneven skin tone.

Treatment takes no longer than 45 minutes and is the perfect skin care solution for men and women looking to give their skin a spring refresh.

Treatment #2: Laser Hair Reduction

If you’re looking ahead to a summer full of sun, laser hair reduction (LHR) ensures that you’ll always have one to-do checked off your list.

Starting the initial LHR process in the springtime is the best way to ensure optimal results when summer hits. Why?

First, in the spring, your skin will likely be lighter. During LHR sessions, the laser energy used penetrates your skin, focusing on the darker pigmentation of your hair follicles. The more contrast between your skin and your hair, the smoother the removal process will be.

Additionally, following your laser hair treatment, your skin may be sensitive to UV light, and you must take care to protect it from the sun. Tackling LHR in the spring means that you won’t have to worry about the harshest summer rays. Instead, you can go into the season ready to enjoy all it has to offer!

With laser hair treatments, the treated hair will begin to work its way out of the follicle and will fall out 14-21 days after treatment. Because laser hair reduction works by targeting active hair follicles, and all of our follicles are never in the growth stage at the same time, it takes a series of treatments to see optimal results. We typically recommend a series of at least six to ten laser hair removal treatments to achieve optimal results, although the number can vary based on your treatment area and hair thickness. Treatments should be spaced four to six weeks apart. Once you’ve completed a series of treatments, maintenance of those treatments is one to two times a year, depending on the individual.

Treatment #3: BBL Treatment

Finally, spring is one of the best times to have a BroadBand Light (BBL) treatment done.

A non-invasive light treatment, BBL intensely stimulates the skin and triggers the growth of healthy new collagen without breaking the skin’s surface. This allows for dramatic skin improvements with minimal to no downtime. It helps with overall skin rejuvenation, removing signs of aging, spider veins, and discoloration.

Spring is the ideal time for treatment as you haven’t been out in the sun, so your skin is lighter. Less sun exposure makes you a great candidate for treatments. The sun’s gentler sun rays during the season also make aftercare much easier.

You’ll see your skin tightening, lightening, and brightening following your very first treatment. How long the results last depends largely upon the aftercare. Sticking to a good skin care regimen, along with wearing an SPF of 30+ whenever you’re out in the sun, will help prolong BBL results.

We recommend that you do a series of three to six treatments depending on your particular concerns and skin condition. I typically have my clients come in for treatment one to two times per year along with monthly facials, chemical peels, and micro-needling to compound the anti-aging process.
